Mateo started his musical career studying in the Katarina Gurska Conservatoire with the pianist Belinda Sánchez. He continued his studies at the Basque Country Conservatoire, Musikene with the international pianist and composer Gustavo Díaz-Jerez. He accomplished the Master in Soloist Performance with the maestro Yuri Ananiev in Madrid and currently he is studying the Master in Piano Performance at the ArtEZ Conservatoire from Zwolle with the maestro Frank van der Laar.
He has received masterclasses from different piano maestros such as Claudio Martínez-Menher, Alexander Kandelaki, Marta Zabaleta, Andrey Yaroshinsky, Eldar Nebolsin and Naum Grubert. He has taken part in different international piano courses such as: “Curso Internacional de Torrelodones” and “Nueva Generación Musical Katarina Gurska”. During his activity as chamber musician he studied with the pianist Benedicte Palko and has receive advice from maestros as Maria Milstein, Gideon den Herder (members of the Baerler trio) Sarah Kapustin and Karlien Bartels among others he also received the third price in the chamber music competition “The best of” at the ArtEZ Conservatoirum.
He has performed in different halls such the Circulo Catalán de Madrid, the Galileo Cultural Centre, the San Juan Bautista Cultural Centre; took part in the international festival Música-Musika held in the Euskalduna Theatre in Bilbao, in the Young Promises Cycle of el Olivar de Castillejo and in the XIV Festival of Women in Music held in Getxo. In the Nederlands he has given recitals in halls from different cities such as Deventer´s Schouwburg, Hengelo´s Waterstaatskerk the Stichting Kamermuziek in Oud Averest or the Arke Zaal in Enschede among others. As soloist made his debut with the CSKG orquestra with Borja Quintas as conductor playing Chopin´s Second piano Concerto.
